About the program:
This year’s program will include “Return,” by guest choreographer Gina Gibney with original score by Ohio composer Ryan Lott and “The Book of Water” by Shimotakahara.
According to Artistic Director David Shimotakahara, “Our Landmark Series performances take dance to locations of architectural or historic significance. The different settings allow the audiences to experience dance in new ways. There is the potential to enjoy a heightened experience by virtue of the audience’s proximity to the action. Audiences are also given the opportunity to become aware of or rediscover places of interest in their community.”
Other Landmark series venues include the main branch of the Cleveland Public Library, The First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland, the Akron Icehouse and Coal Factory Complex, St. Peter’s Church in Cleveland, the Cleveland Trust Rotunda on Euclid Ave., and Pilgrim Congregational Church in Tremont.
