LISA CODISPOTI

COO, Cleveland Museum of Art

Dancing with Ahna Bonnette

  • Lisa Codispoti is the Chief Operating and People Officer for the Cleveland Museum of Art.  She

    is responsible for visitor-facing operations including Visitor Services, Protection Services,

    Volunteer Services, Building Services, Retail Operations and the Human Resources and

    Employee Communications, the café, restaurant, and special event functions of the museum. 

    Her career has been focused on both operations and human resources in diverse industries,

    leading teams both domestically and internationally.  She started her career at GE Capital and

    then worked for KeyCorp.   After leaving Key, Lisa was the Chief Human Resource Officer for

    OSI, a global outsourcing firm.  She then joined Sage plc, a global software company

    headquartered in the UK with 14,000 people across six continents, as Chief People Officer. 

     Before joining the CMA in early 2019, Lisa worked in consulting, assisting organizations with

    cultural transformation, leadership development, change management, coaching and

    employee engagement.


    Lisa has an MBA from the Weather head School of Management at Case Western Reserve and

    a BA from Walsh University.  She is a graduate of both the Leadership Cleveland (2022)

    program and the Leadership Stark County program. Lisa is on the Board of Directors of

    Engage!Cleveland and the Walsh University Advisory Board for the Deville School of Business.


    Lisa and her two sons live in Cleveland Heights. Lisa was a trained dancer until the age of

    twenty-two. Recently, she rediscovered the joy of Latin social dancing after hanging up her

    dance shoes for 30+ years to focus on raising her family and growing her career.

  • Why did you become an It Takes Two! celebrity dancer?

    A friend told me I should….is she really a friend?!?!

    How has it been working with your GroundWorks dance partner (s)?

    Great so far – she’s young, talented, thin,  and cute – all the things I am not.

    What has surprised you about the creative process?

    N/A – I’m never surprised by the creative process.

    What about dance in general connects with you?

    Dance and music are meant to tell a story.  I love the storytelling process.
