For one night, Gigi Patsch, owner of popular wine bar and restaurant Gigi’s on Fairmount, will hang up her apron and don dancing shoes for GroundWorks DanceTheater’s 10th Annual It Takes Two Benefit. The event, to take place on April 28 at the Cleveland Museum of Art, has become one of the most highly anticipated events in the city – and Patsch can’t wait to be a part of it.
“I’ve attended in the past and I was honored to be asked to participate this year,” says Patsch. “I think it’s important to support the arts. The arts add richness to our lives and lift us up.”
She’s one of seven Celebrity Dancers representing the Class of 2018 and will be dancing with GroundWorks artist Tyler Ring at the April 28 gala at the Cleveland Museum of Art. The two, who had their first rehearsal this week, will perform a “fun and flirty” piece.
“I’m going out on a limb!” Patsch says about her first-ever dance performance. “But I’m so excited. I’ve already met so many wonderful people through this process and that has been an incredible gift. I’m so happy to support GroundWorks and to have the opportunity to challenge myself. I’m going to enjoy every minute of it.”
Patsch, who supports a number of Northeast Ohio-based organizations including the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes, the Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center, and the local chapter of Big Shots & Little Stars, will host an event this Saturday from 5 to 7 pm in support of It Takes Two.
The cocktail party at Gigi’s on Fairmount (3477 Fairmount Boulevard in Cleveland Heights) will feature a signature GroundWorks cocktail, hors d’oeuvres and a chance to vote for your favorite dancers.
