It Takes Two – Celebrity Dancer Jennifer Coleman

Jennifer Coleman has always appreciated what GroundWorks has contributed to Cleveland. Now she gets to give back to them during the 10th Annual It Takes Two Benefit on April 28th at the Cleveland Museum of Art.

“I have been at quite a few GroundWorks benefits in the past,” says Coleman. “I’ve always harbored a secret desire to dance in them, too. They looked like a lot of fun.”

Before she joined The George Gund Foundation, where she is now the Senior Program Officer, Coleman developed her passion for creating a more creative Cleveland. She was president of her own architecture and design firm, Jennifer Coleman Creative.

“Cleveland is great for high quality arts programs,” says Coleman. “It’s a great environment for art to flourish. Whether it be art, music, theater, you can always find something that you love.”

Coleman is a first-time dancer, but she has experience singing and acting in high school and college. She is looking forward to performing a high-energy piece with her dance partner, GroundWorks artist Tyler Ring.

“We have very of-the-moment music we’re dancing to,” says Coleman. “I’m excited to dance with Tyler. It feels like we’ve known each other for much longer than we have.”
