POSITION: Marketing & Public Relations Coordinator

SALARY: Salary commensurate with experience; health benefits available

REPORTS TO: General Manager

STATUS: Part time; average 20 hours/week; flexible work schedule

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Marketing & Public Relations Coordinator is responsible for the planning of all external communications and marketing collaterals, as well as the day-to-day management and oversight of marketing and public relations activities. This person works as part of the GroundWorks team to create engaging content that will reach a wide variety of constituents for performances, community outreach activities, and events.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE:

  1. Work collaboratively with GroundWorks staff to develop marketing campaigns and content to support performances, outreach and fundraising events.

  2. Website management and maintenance, including creating blog posts, new pages and updates in WordPress website; use Google analytics to assess and drive decisions

  3. Create/oversee calendar for social media, including design and content for posts on multiple platforms

  4. Develop schedule for and implementation of digital and regular mail, including e-newsletters and post cards; use segmentation for optimal reach

  5. Create and implement public relations plan, including writing and distribution of press releases, follow up and pitches with media to secure interviews, and provide info for calendar listings

  6. Secure ad inventory for paid media, providing copy and ads; manage Google Ad grants

  7. Manage sales and ticketing around all performances, including single ticket sales, group sales, sponsorships, program ads, merchandise

  8. Manage photography and video assets

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES INCLUDE:

  1. 3+ years work experience in nonprofit marketing; arts/dance preferred

  2. Superb written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  3. Self-reliant and self-motivated

  4. Experience in cultivating positive working relationships, internally and externally

  5. Keen attention to detail

  6. Fluency in Microsoft Office and Social Media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)

  7. Knowledge of WordPress, Photoshop, InDesign, Airtable, or related programs preferred

  8. Video editing and graphic design recommended
