We asked all of our Celebrity Dancers to tell us a bit about themselves so you can get to know them and their organizations before the big event! Today, we are talking with John McMicken, CEO of Evergreen Cooperatives
Tell me about your organization and what you do.
Evergreen is a non-profit which serves to incubate and support for-profit ventures which are employee-owned. We seek to not only create jobs, but to create wealth-building opportunities for our employees thru profit-sharing. So far, we have 250 employees in four companies…all 100% worker-owned!
What are some of your favorite places to eat in Cleveland?
Mama Santas, Cosmic Dave’s, Town Hall
Why did you decide to dance in It Takes Two?
Because I had such a great time at prior events, because I love the work that Ground Works does, because I wanted to overcome my fear of dancing, and because I was subject to some (very friendly) peer pressure from past dancers!
What is your dance background? Have you danced or performed on a stage before?
No – never! Other than some elementary school performances…this is a first!
What should fans expect from your performance on April 27th?
My partner Rebecca and I have picked a very cool song by a crazy performer – so expect a cool and crazy performance!
Make sure you vote for John and catch his performance on April 27th at It Takes Two!
